The state government is revamping the school management committees created under Right to Education (RTE) Act.
The 20-member committee will be headed by a parent, and a parent of a special child will be vice-president.
Volunteers, representatives from local bodies, members from self-help groups also will be the members of the committee,” school education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi told reporters on Tuesday.
He launched a mobile app for creating school development plans for individual schools.
The app will be useful to gather and verify information on students’ enrolment, retaining students, improving infrastructure and learning environment.
It will also be useful for planning, implementing and assessment of development plans.
